REMINDER!
A rental that extends more than 5 hours past the scheduled time of return is deemed to have a one-day duration. Depending on the kind of vehicle rented, the hourly rate (between one to four hours) may change.

PERSONAL ACCIDENT INSURANCE (PAI)

For published and discounted rates – it automatically includes the Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) and Collision Damage Waiver (CDW).

For the PAI, in the event of a trip-related accident, it covers the seating capacity of the car you are renting.

COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER (CDW)

+ For CDW, this is just a waiver that restricts the renter’s liabilities during the period of duration of the CDW cover. Renter(s) obligated to pay the deductible franchise or participation charge whether they are at fault or not, whether the damage is minor or severe.

+ Lost key – Depending on the class of rented vehicle, there may be a fine for the misplaced key.
The entire vehicle’s system was covered with this cost.

+ Early Return Penalty – shall be 50% of unused rental days
+ Restricted areas
– Renter declares and warrants:
– Not to use or misuse the renter vehicle especially when the same or any part hereof is damaged rendering it no longer safe or roadworthy (unpaved roads, mountain trails and flooded areas).
– Not to transport the vehicle outside the island where it was originally rented.

*** If you visited restricted areas and an accident or mechanical issue occurred, this might constitute a breach of the agreement you signed and make you liable for the full cost of the damage since the CDW would be forfeited.

+ Gas level upon releasing of vehicle
– The vehicle’s gas level must be known by the renter(s) before it is released. To avoid fuel surcharges with a 10-15% markup, Avis must endorse the vehicle with a full tank and it must be returned in full also.

+ Office hours / meet late arrival surcharges – applies to servicing stations that are not open 24/7 and charge renter(s) Php400.00 for after-hours assistance.

+ Liaison and documentation fee = Php1200.00
+ The renter is required to submit the following in the event of an accident involving a third party:
– Driver’s License
– Passport (For Foreigners), Validity date of passport and date of last entry in the Philippines
– Official Receipt/Certificate of Registration (OR/CR)
– Police Report on the accident, loss or damage
– Actual Photo(s) of the damaged vehicle showing the plate number

***Full cost of damage shall be charged for non-submission of papers in case of accident

+ Additional Driver (2nd driver = FREE)

• Only the principal renter or the additional driver specified and named in the contract shall drive the vehicle and must be holders of current and valid driver’s license to drive the rented vehicle.
• If the primary renter chooses to include a third extra driver, there will be fees of Php 309.00 per day, and they must submit the above-mentioned requirements too.

+ Requirements needed for additional driver:
-Full Name / Current Address
-Driver’s License + 1 Government issued ID
-Physically present to sign the contract
(this can be found in the lower left corner of the contract)

+ The assigned plate number of your rented vehicle is shown on the upper left corner of the contract (usually handwritten). It also includes the type of fuel to be used and scheduled coding day.
